Eric J. James is the youngest of twelve children born in Elizabeth City, N.C. He received his B.S. in Child Psychology from North Carolina Agricultural & Technical State University in Greensboro, N.C., home of the AGGIES.  He has served the youth in various capacities in the juvenile justice system, mental health and served numerous years in the North Carolina and Virginia school systems. He has implemented his afterschool programs in many schools to assist students with their growth, development and discovering their God given talents stemming from his foundation of enriched family principles, morals and values.  

After connecting with hundreds of students across the region, he realized that he needed to get his message out to the world that students need more caring, consistent and trusting adults in their lives. He later started “Touch A Life Academy” on July 31, 2018.
